My son is in the Dual Language program in first grade, this being his second year there, and my daughter just began in pre-k. I overall have been very happy with this school. The teachers are kind and friendly to students and parents. They are very much helpful in questions and concerns about my children's education. The arts programs are fantastic; last year my son took piano, vocal, general music class, drama, and art. They have a string orchcestra and a specialized arts intensive program for gifted children. There is a Dual Language program which teaches in both English and Spanish and a Gifted and Talented program. The drawback to this school is lack of parental involvement. If only more parents would get involved, this would definately be one of the top NYC public schools.

My son has been going there since 2006, the 1st half of the yr his teacher was horrible for the 2ndt half of the yr there was a significant improvement when they placed Ms. rincon as the teacher(really nice lady). The following yr. the teacher wasn't the best given the fact that my son barely brought homework home, as for last year it was slighlty better nothing to brag about. My point is this school needs to improve in all aspects, focus more on discipline(my son is well disciplined and knows better than to act up in school)hiring teachers that are willing to take things to another level(no offense to those that already are great as they are)but through my experience I've come across 2 out of 3 teachers which were not at all there and didn't really do their job. Now they changed the uniforms to white and wine. Why?

I think that the school has improved since Mr. Cruz has taken over as Principle. The school is too hot in the winter&summer.Though the children need to be more controlled It has improved. The teachers are a great help and care about the children very much especially my childrens teachers like Mrs.Lledwell.

Operation HOPE/Banking on Our Future has visited P.S. /I.S. 210 twice over the last year to provide Financial Literacy Education. The school is a prime example of what can be done for Students when Parents, Educators and Administrators collaborate and focus with integrity. Principal Linares, Asst. Principal Mejia and the entire staff make a terrific team. The Students we taught Financial Literacy to displayed a keen interest in learning, an enthusiasm and grasp of finance seldom seen in others their age. As we move into the new school year we look forward to bringing Operation HOPE/Banking on Our Future Financial Literacy program to all the Students at 21st Century Academy for Community Leadership. Congratulations to everyone at P.S./I.S. 210. Job well done!

I am a mother of a student attending NHACS, he is in 11th grade. When he entered the school he was below average and his grades were not as good, but with the help of the all his teachers he has progressed a lot. The teachers are really helpful and they encourage the kids to reach their potential. I am really satisfied with the quality of the school and that's why I've decided to transfer my 10 year old son. I would really like to thank the teachers and faculty for doing such a good job.

OLL is a great I could not be more greatful to this school that educated me my daughter and now my son who is in 8th grade. He has been accepted to the top schools in NYC such as Loyola School, Xavier High School and 3 others. The standard and principles are high the children become scholars without knowing. The teachers are great and dedicated. The principal is great and the vice principal as well. It was a wonderful choice when my parents sent me and I know I made the right choice for my children as well.

Tough curriculum, fine teachers who will get to know your kid. I am proud of our son and his development as a student at HSMSE. He and the kids there work very hard and give much in return. Win-win.
